Portugal Defeats Denmark 4-2 to Stay Unbeaten in Nations League

Portugal maintained their perfect start in the Nations League with a 4-2 win over Denmark in Copenhagen. Despite the absence of star player Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal showcased their depth and resilience. João Cancelo opened the scoring in the 13th minute, only for Mikkel Damsgaard to equalize for Denmark. Portugal regained the lead through Gonçalo Ramos before Denmark’s Rasmus Højlund leveled the score at 2-2 early in the second half.

The turning point came when Vitinha scored his first international goal with a header, putting Portugal back in control. João Félix added a late goal to secure Portugal’s third consecutive victory, keeping them unbeaten and at the top of their Nations League group.

Meanwhile, in Group A2, Jürgen Klopp celebrated his first win as Germany’s coach, leading his team to a 2-0 triumph over Serbia in Munich. Tom Bischof netted his first senior international goal to open the scoring, and Florian Wirtz added a second in the second half, sealing the victory with a high-intensity performance from the German side.

In the same group, the Netherlands managed to claw back from a two-goal deficit to secure a 2-2 draw with Greece. Goals from Fotis Ioannidis and Giorgos Masouras initially put Greece ahead. However, Virgil van Dijk’s effort and an 89th-minute equalizer from Tijjani Reijnders salvaged a point for the Dutch team.

The results highlight a dynamic day in the Nations League, with Portugal asserting their dominance in their group and Germany finding early success under Klopp’s leadership. The Netherlands’ comeback demonstrated their resilience, contributing to an exciting round of matches. As the competition progresses, teams continue to vie for the top spots in their respective groups.
