In a rare public appearance following weeks of absence, Iran’s Supreme Leader addressed the nation about the conflict’s aftermath. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei showed visible signs of exhaustion, appearing significantly more aged and speaking with a weakened voice.

The 86-year-old leader’s speech challenged characterizations of Iran’s nuclear program as completely destroyed by US bombardment. However, international nuclear agency officials confirmed that the attacks had caused enormous damage to Iranian atomic infrastructure, potentially delaying development by years.

Iran’s successful attack on American forces in Qatar was emphasized by Khamenei as evidence of his country’s nuclear resistance despite bombardment. He characterized this action as successful demonstration that Iranian military capabilities remained effective despite the devastating strikes.

The implementation of the ceasefire has allowed Iran to begin normalizing operations while signaling its intention to maintain resistance. The country has partially reopened its airspace and begun restoring normal activities, while parliament moves to limit cooperation with international nuclear oversight agencies.
